Synthesis of 2,3-Dibromoanthracene

The previously unknown 2,3-dibromoanthracene (1) was synthesized in three steps by two different methods from 6,7-dibromo-1,4-epoxy-1,4-dihydronaphthalene (2) via Diels-Alder reaction.
