Summary

Cultured human endothelial cells were infected with human cytomegalovirus AD 169 and Kerr. The infection resulted in the appearance of viral antigens in the nuclei of about 10% of the endothelial cells and in the concomittant disappearance of vWF from the infected cells. No differences were observed between endothelial cells from different sources (umbilical cord veins or arteries, adult veins).
