Summary

The simultaneous correction of a potentially hazardous combination of adult post-ductal coarctation and aortic insufficiency is described. The familiar left thoracotomy and median sternotomy approach was used. One and a half year follow-up and postoperative aortogram show good functional results.

This is considered to be the first report of a successful onestage correction of these 2 lesions using a left-sided thoracotomy and a median sternotomy.
