A single dose of Cotrimoxazole proved to be significantly effective in preventing respectively treating nosocomial UTI's in the patients. With careful interpretation urinary sediment findings are a simple, inexpensive, noninvasive and effective screening procedure in the detection of uncomplicated UTI's.
