Malignant tumors of the eyelids (0,8-1,5 % ) are rare malignant neoplasms of the face. The operations on these tumors, including plastic-reconstructive techniques , represent a major challenge for the surgeon. It is important to aviod missing eyelid closure and eyelid misalignments postoperativ. From 1.1.2019 to 30.6.2020, 51 patients were operated on for basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma or malignant melanoma of eyelid and periorbital area. The tumor resection was carried out in the average 75-year-old patient wird cryosection (28 men, 23 women).

The defect closure was based on the recommendations of beyer-machule.

The following criteria had to be taken into account: defect size, defect location and involvement of the lid edge. The skin defect was closed by direct suturing, rotation flaps, tranposition flaps, lower eyelid reconstruction according to Mustarde, upper eyelid reconstruction according to Tenzel and cheek displacement according to Imre.

In the case of perforating lid defects of up to 30 % , the lid edge was restored by primary adaptation, if necessary with lateral canthotomy and cantholysis. In 3,9 %  of the cases an ectropion or a small coloboma occurred postoperativ.

The ectropion had to be corrected surgically. The results were discussed with actual literature.
