The copy date for this edition of the European Journal of Ultrasound is just before EUROSON in Geneva so whilst there is furious activity in terms of organisation, there is little to report. I must however commend the organisers for arranging the Davis cup tennis match between Great Britain and Switzerland in Geneva the weekend of the conference. I am sure no one will be tempted to go to the tennis rather than the excellent scientific programme but perhaps some may find reasons to spend their spare time indoors watching the tennis rather than exploring the delights of Geneva.

The Board of Directors will have the unenviable task of choosing members for the new committees by ballot in the case of the Publications committee. It is gratifying that several people came forward forcing a ballot for the first time. This newsletter carries a report of the EUROSON School in Rumania which I understand was most successful and was well attended.
