Abstract
This chapter reviews the current indications, techniques, and clinical outcomes in the use of stereotactic radiosurgery for the management of patients with arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). There is an extensive literature available. Although radiosurgery was initially used for smaller-volume AVMs in high-risk functional locations, its utility in all brain locations and in selected patients with larger AVMs has become more important in recent years. Together with resection and endovascular approaches, radiosurgery remains an important part of multimodal care for patients with this challenging vascular disorder.
