BEWE – ein Tool zur Diagnose und zur Therapiefindung bei Erosionen

Die Diagnose und die Beurteilung der Behandlungsbedürftigkeit von säureinduzierten Zahnhartsubstanzerkrankungen sind nicht immer einfach. Die sogenannte Basic Erosive Wear Examination (BEWE) [4] ist ein Hilfsmittel, das neben der Einschätzung der Behandlungsbedürftigkeit auch die Entscheidung für eine individuelle Therapiestrategie erleichtert. Mit ihr kann zahnbezogen das Maß der erosiven Defekte sowie der gesamthafte Schweregrad der Zahnerkrankung leicht und zeiteffizient bestimmt werden. Jedem Schweregrad sind Empfehlungen für Therapiemaßnahmen zugeordnet, die ein strukturiertes und effektives Therapiemanagement in der täglichen Praxis ermöglichen.
