Excellent reviewers are essential to the success of any journal and peer review is the major pillar of science. A special thanks goes to the top five reviewers who will receive the 2018 award for their contribution to our journal last year. These five reviewers were selected because they ranked highest on a score based on number, quality and time taken to review. The awards will be presented during the 50th anniversary of Endoscopy reception at ESGE Days 2019. On behalf of the editorial team, I look forward to meeting all reviewers and editorial board members later this month in Prague.
