Aktuelle Konzepte der nicht chirurgischen Parodontitistherapie

Trotz eines hohen Erkrankungsbefalls werden Patienten mit entzündlichen Parodontalerkrankungen nur unzureichend versorgt. Die meisten Parodontitiden können durch den Allgemeinzahnarzt erfolgreich behandelt werden. Grundlage ist zunächst eine antiinfektiöse Therapie durch eine subgingivale Instrumentierung mit Entfernung des Biofilms und von Konkrementen. Eine adjuvante Verabreichung von systemischen oder lokal wirksamen antimikrobiellen Medikamenten kann dies in bestimmten Fällen unterstützen.
