Zusammenfassung
Der Zahnengstand gehört zu den häufigsten Malokklusionen, sodass die Kieferorthopädie
täglich vielfach mit der Frage der Platzbeschaffung konfrontiert wird. Bei ausgeprägtem
Platzmangel ist die Entscheidung einer Ex/Non-Extraktionstherapie zu treffen. Diese
hängt von den individuellen morphologisch-anatomischen sowie funktionellen Gegebenheiten
ab. Durch die Berücksichtigung einer Vielzahl einzelner Befundparameter soll eine
größtmögliche Entscheidungssicherheit erzielt werden. Hinzu kommt die Analyse alternativer
Möglichkeiten der Platzbeschaffung. Neben dem systematischen Algorithmus liegt ein
besonderes Augenmerk auf der individuellen Gewichtung der Befundparameter, was letztendlich
in hohem Maße die klinische Erfahrung fordert.
Abstract
Crowding is one of the most common malocclusions. Therefore, the orthodontist is frequently
confronted with the problem of space acquisition during his daily work. If there is
an extensive lack of space, the decision to extract or not extract has to be made.
This decision depends on the individual morphological-anatomical as well as functional
situation. The greatest possible decision-making certainty can be achieved by taking
into account a large number of individual diagnostic parameters. Further alternative
options for creating space are analyzed. In addition to a systematic algorithm, special
attention needs to be paid to the individual weighting of the parameters, which ultimately
requires a high degree of clinical experience.
