Veronique R. H. Van der Voort et al. Efficacy and safety of cap-assisted endoscopic mucosal resection for treatment of nonlifting colorectal polyps

Snare, avulsion, and thermal techniques have all been described for removal of benign nonlifting colorectal polyps but are associated with higher recurrence rates compared to their use for easily lifted polyps. In this study, cap-assisted endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR-C) for nonlifting polyps was shown to be effective with few adverse events. Although recurrence rates were similar to those with other approaches, and one third of polyps required an adjunctive technique, EMR-C seems to be another helpful tool for a tricky problem.
