Author commentary on Clara Yzet et al.
Ileocecal valve (ICV) lesions are technically challenging to resect. Although endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) techniques have been described, the outcomes of traction-assisted ESD are not known. This French retrospective multicenter case series examined 106 lesions, 59% of which invaded the terminal ileum. En bloc and R0 resection rates were 94% and 76%, respectively. R1 resection was associated with lesions involving the anal lip and lesions that covered ≥75% of the ICV.
