Zusammenfassung

Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über unsere Forschungsansätze zu therapeutischen Kompetenzen im Hinblick auf drei übergeordnete Fragestellungen. Die erste Fragestellung befasst sich damit, wie ein kompetenter Umgang mit der Übertragung und Gegenübertragung im Kontext von Alliance Ruptures gelingt. Diesbezügliche Forschungen zum Allianzfokussierten Training sowie zur subjektiven Gegenübertragung werden vorgestellt. Im Bereich der zweiten Fragestellung geht es um allgemeine interpersonelle Kompetenzen von Therapeuten. Unsere hierzu skizzierten Forschungsansätze betreffen das Konstrukt der interpersonellen Fähigkeiten (Facilitative Interpersonal Skills, FIS) und das Messen dieser Fähigkeiten mit der FIS-Übung. In diesem Themenbereich fokussieren wir auch darauf, mit welchen Eigenschaften hohe interpersonelle Fähigkeiten einhergehen und durch welche linguistischen und phonetischen Merkmale Therapeutenäußerungen gekennzeichnet sind, die als interpersonell kompetent eingestuft werden. Zudem untersuchen wir die Neigung von Therapeuten, ihre interpersonellen Fähigkeiten zu überschätzen (Self-Assessment Bias). Die dritte Fragestellung betrifft die therapeutische Kompetenz, Techniken anzuwenden und hilfreiche Veränderungsprozesse entstehen zu lassen. Vorgestellt werden ein Instrument zum Erfassen verbaler Techniken (Psychodynamische Interventionsliste) sowie unsere Forschungsansätze, die auf das Beschreiben und Messen von Veränderungsprinzipien (Mediators of change) fokussieren.

Abstract

This article provides an overview of our research concepts on therapeutic competencies with regard to three main questions. The first research question deals with therapists‘ competencies to succesfully handle transference and countertransference in the cotext of Alliance Ruptures. Research on the Alliance-Focused Training and on subjective countertransference is presented. The second research question deals with therapists' general interpersonal skills. The research approaches outlined here concern the construct of Facilitative Interpersonal Skills (FIS) and the measurement of these skills using the FIS-task. In further studies on this topic, we are focusing on the question of which therapist characteristics are associated with higher interpersonal skills and which linguistic and phonetic features characterise therapist responses that are rated as interpersonally competent. Another study concerns the tendency of therapists to overestimate their interpersonal skills (self-assessment bias). The third main research question deals with the competence to apply therapeutic techniques and to create helpful change processes. An instrument to assess verbal techniques (Psychodynamic Intervention List) and research approaches focusing on the description and the assessment of mediators of change are presented.
