Analyse von Faszikulationspotenzialen in der Differenzialdiagnostik der Amyotrophen Lateralsklerose – sinnvoll oder nicht?

Zusammenfassung

Die Wertigkeit einer genauen Analyse von Faszikulationspotenzialen in der differenzialdiagnostischen Abklärung einer Amyotrophen Lateralsklerose wird kontrovers diskutiert. Anhand dreier Fallbeispiele werden die derzeitigen Kenntnisse zur Morphologie und zum Entstehungsort von Faszikulationen dargestellt. Die Übersichtsarbeit bewertet die Sinnhaftigkeit einer eingehenden Beurteilung von Faszikulationspotenzialen und schlägt einen elektromyographischen Algorithmus bei klinischem Nachweis von Faszikulationen vor.

Abstract

The value of a detailed analysis of fasciculation potentials in the differential diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is the subject of controversial debate. Using three case studies, current knowledge on the morphology and origin of fasciculations is presented. This review evaluates the usefulness of a detailed assessment of fasciculation potentials and proposes an electromyographic algorithm for clinically detectable fasciculations.
