Fallstrick in der rehabilitativen Therapie durch Medikamenteninteraktion

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Fallbericht berichten wir über eine Phase von Halluzinationen, Tremor und Desorientiertheit als Komplikation in der frührehabilitativen Betreuung einer Patientin mit schwerem Schädelhirntrauma, die sich als Folge von Interaktionen zweier häufig eingesetzter Medikamente, nämlich Escitalopram und Amantadin mit Sulfametaxol-Trimetoprim, herausstellte.

Abstract

In the rehabilitation of patients with severe head injuries episodes of altered mental status occur frequently. We discuss the case of a patient with marked confusion and tremor as main symptoms. These symptoms were retrospectively attributed to an interaction of two commonly used drugs: Escitalopram and amantadine with sulfametaxol trimetoprim.
