Abstract
Solanum elaeagnifolium Cav., recently recorded in India and originally from Tropical America has been investigated
for the glycoalkaloid content in its leaf, root and stem. The glycoalkaloid content
of the berries from this species has been reported earlier.
The results indicate that the leaf material along with the berries would provide a
good economic proposition for the isolation of glycoalkaloids from this plant species.
