Summary

A review is given on the gas–liquid chromatography of lower terpenes in plant material, whereby especially the choose of columns, the identification of the gas–chromatographic separated compounds and their quantitative determination in plant material is discussed. The advantages and possibilities of the solid sampling technique for the analysis of lower terpenes in plant material are discussed and some applications and results achieved by means of this technique are given.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird eine Übersicht gegeben über die Gaschromatographie von niederen Terpenen in Pflanzenmaterial, wobei besonders die Wahl der Trennsäulen, die Identifizierung der gaschromatographisch getrennten Stoffe sowie ihrer quantitativen Bestimmung im Pflanzenmaterial behandelt wird. Die Vorteile und Möglichkeiten der direkten Gaschromatographie von Pflanzenmaterial werden diskutiert, sowie einige Beispiele und Ergebnisse der Anwendung der „solid sampling” Technik gegeben.
