Abstract
Few Ugandan traditional medicines have been studied with a view to confirm or disprove
their pharmacological and medicinal potency. In each case, normal saline crude extracts
have been administered, in different doses, to experimental animals and isolated tissues.
Normal saline has been intentionally used to rule out any other chemical interference
with the natural active principles which may be present in these traditionally used
medicinal herbs or plants, though some of the principles are not likely to be soluble
in this medium, but as a preliminary measure, this has been considered sufficient.
