Zusammenfassung
Bei einer 48jährigen Frau, die bisher nicht gegen Kinderlähmung geimpft worden war,
kam es zu einer schweren Poliomyelitiserkrankung mit permanenter Lähmung beider Beine.
Als ursächliches Agens wurde Impfvirus (wahrscheinlich Typ II) der Sabinschen Lebendvakzine
gefunden. Das Impfvirus wurde durch Kontakt mit dem oral geimpften Enkelkind übertragen.
Durch serologische Untersuchungen konnten andere Viren mit neurotropen Eigenschaften
als Erreger ausgeschlossen werden. Die Serumantikörper der Patientin reagierten mit
den Impfvirusstämmen »LSc, 2ab«, »P712, Ch, 2ab« und »Leon 12a1 b» stärker als mit den Wildvirusstämmen »Mahoney«, »Lansing« und »Saukett«.
Summary
Poliomyelitis with permanent paralysis of both legs developed in a 48-year-old woman
previously not immunized against polio. The probable cause was the virus (probably
Type II) contained in Sabin's live virus vaccine, transmitted by contact with a grandchild
who had been immunized with the oral vaccine. Serological tests ruled out other neurotropic
viruses as the causative agents. The serum antibodies of the patient reacted with
the vaccine virus strains »LSc, 2ab«, »P712, Ch, 2ab«, and »Leon 12a1 b« more strongly than the wild strains »Mahoney«, »Lansing« and »Saukett«.

Poliomielitis espinal tras el contacto con virus de la vacunación antipoliomelítica
En una mujer de 48 años de edad que no estaba vacunada contra la poliomielitis se
instauró una poliomielitis grave con parálisis permanente de ambas piernas. Como agente
causante se encontró el virus vacunal (probablemente del tipo II) de las vacunas vivas
de Sabin. El virus vacunal fue transmitido por contacto con el nieto vacunado por
vía oral. Mediante los estudios serológicos pudieron excluirse como agentes productores
otros virus con características neurótropas. Los anticuerpos séricos de la paciente
reaccionaron con las cepas de virus vacunal (»LSc, 2ab«, »P712, Ch, 2ab« y »Leon 12a1 b« mucho más intensamente que con las cepas víricas no atenuadas »Mahoney«, »Lansing«
y »Saukett«.
