Significance

The authors report an enantioselective variant of the catalytic cyclization of enynes employing a Pd(II)/Pd(IV) catalytic system previously reported by the groups of Tse and Sanford (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2007, 129, 4906; J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2007, 129, 5836). Little attention has been paid to asymmetric catalysis involving Pd(II)/Pd(IV) catalytic systems. This report represents the first example of asymmetric catalysis involving such a catalytic system.
