Significance
Recently, aryl tosylates and mesylates have attracted significant attention as cross-coupling partners. Herein, a new highly efficient catalytic system for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of these compounds is described. The new ligand BrettPhos allows a high-yielding reaction between aryl sulfonates and a variety of organoborates, including previously unreactive hetero-aryl boronic esters, methyl- and cyclopropylboronic acids.
