Knoevenagel Reaction Catalyzed by Dendrimeric Nano-Silica PAMAM

Significance

A Knoevenagel reaction catalyzed by silica-supported amino dendrimers was described. The third generation amino dendrimers (nano-PAMAM and nano-PAMDMAM) were prepared by spraying methyl acrylate and ethylene­diamine alternately onto nano-NAP. The optimal Knoevenagel reaction conditions were identified (see table entries 4 and 6, respectively).
