Significance

Gold nanoclusters (average size: 1.3 nm) stabilized by poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (Au:PVP) promoted the intramolecular addition of toluenesulfonamide to unactivated alkenes under air to give the corresponding pyrrolidine derivatives 2 in up to >99% yield (8 examples).
