Significance

The iridium-catalyzed N-allylation of indoles is described. The products are obtained in good yield and with high regio- and enantioselectivity. This protocol is an extension on previous research involving the N-allylation of benzimidazoles, imidazoles, and purines (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2009, 131, 8971).
