Abstract

Genistein was efficiently synthesized from (2,4,6-trihydroxyphenyl)ethanone by a novel five-step procedure involving the formation of an enamino ketone, followed by ring closure and a ­Suzuki coupling reaction using palladium acetate and poly(ethylene glycol).
