Zusammenfassung

Die postpartale Kardiomyopathie (PPCM: Prolactin Mediates Postpartum Cardiomyopathy; auch: peripartale Kardiomyopathie) ist eine seltene, akut einsetzende Erkrankung des Herzens. Sie tritt in den letzten Wochen der Schwangerschaft und bis zu sechs Monate nach der Geburt ein. Die Ursache ist bisher nicht geklärt.
