Einleitung

In der Praxis des Kinder- und Jugendarztes und in der Notambulanz einer Kinderklinik sind Kopfschmerzen ein häufiger Vorstellungsgrund. Hier muss entschieden werden, welche diagnostischen Schritte einzuleiten sind und welche Therapieoptionen vorliegen. In Folge der Sorge vor bedrohlichen organischen Kopfschmerzursachen besteht die Gefahr, sich zu sehr auf eine – oft nicht notwendige – technische Diagnostik zu konzentrieren und die notwendige Betreuung funktioneller Kopfschmerzsyndrome aus den Augen zu verlieren.
