Soziopathie und „Psychopathy”

Das Psychopathiekonzept hat eine lange Tradition in der Psychiatriegeschichte. In wechselnder Gewichtung beschreibt es abweichendes und sozial störendes Verhalten sowie damit verbundene psychische Symptome.

Besondere Bedeutung in der aktuellen Psychopathieforschung hat das Psychopathy-Konzept („Psychopathy” sensu Hare) gewonnen. Hierdurch konnten wichtige Ergebnisse zu Ätiologie, neurobiologischen Korrelaten und insbesondere auch zur Gefährlichkeitsprognose erlangt werden.

Empirische Forschungen belegen Veränderungen von Struktur und Funktion symptomrelevanter Hirnareale. Diese Befunde werden bei Straftätern stärker berücksichtigt.

Die Behandlung von Psychopathie durch Psychotherapie ist problematisch und nur über langfristige Konzepte erfolgversprechend. Eine psychopharmakologische Behandlung ist selten indiziert.
