A large number of plants and their isolated constituents have been shown to potentiate
immunity [1–2]. In present study, the essential oils of five species from were used
to determinate the effects on immune system in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus
mykiss). The experimental in a completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 3 replicates
and each replicate fish were divided into 12 pieces. The experimental treatments were:
essential oils of Satureja bachtiarica Bunge, Thymus daenensis Celak, Satureja khuzestanica Jamzad, Dracocephalum multicaule Benth, Mentha longifolia L, normal diet + olive oil, normal diet (control). The results showed significant
different (p≤0.05) between almost characteristics of immune system rainbow trout. The results
of showed that the highest levels of immune factors (the percentage of phagocytosis,
number and rate of crime phagosite Igm) relating to essential oils of M. longifolia, S. khuzestanica and D. multicaule. In final, the use of essential oils and herbs, especially the M. longifolia and S. bachtiarica improve the status indicator.
