Am 1. April 2013 informierte die WHO über in China aufgetretene humane Infektionen mit einem Influenza-A(H7N9)-Stamm, der normalerweise bei Vögeln vorkommt. Mittlerweile (Stand: 11.04.2013) sind 33 humane Infektionen aus den Provinzen Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui und Zhejiang mit bisher 9 Todesfällen bekannt geworden [ 1 ].
