A new journal is born!

Endoscopy International Open (EIO) is our new open access journal in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. It is a peer-reviewed, academic journal and as a “companion or sister journal” to Endoscopy, complements perfectly our Endoscopy family:

Endoscopy, being highly selective and focusing on the topmost international research cannot offer all authors and studies a publication platform – to them, from now on, EIO presents itself as a true alternative.

Endoscopy International Open covers all aspects of endoscopic diagnosis, therapeutic procedures and technical developments. The journal investigates different treatment options, compares new devices and technical developments not only for diagnostic but also therapeutic approach. Special attention is given to results and clinical studies focusing on national or regional aspects and problems which most often do not meet the overall international interests of other leading journals in the field. We would like to offer “junior“ authors a platform for their publications and look forward to receiving manuscripts also from countries and regions where research itself is “young” and rapidly developing. Furthermore, with its open access business model, EIO fits the needs of publicly funded studies for which publication in an open access way is mandatory. These funding bodies increasingly mandate publications in open access journals. Additionally, for many regions throughout the world, free online access is an attractive and important option to access research and spread knowledge about the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy.
