Ernährung und Nährstoffe in der Prävention und Therapie von Störungen im Zahn-Kiefer-Bereich

Zusammenfassung

Eine Ernährung, die wenig kauintensiv, arm an Pflanzenstoffen und reich an Zucker und Stärke ist, wirkt sich ungünstig auf den Gesundheitszustand des oralen Systems aus. Die Folgen zeigen sich in einem Anstieg der Kariesrate, einem vermehrten Auftreten parodontaler Erkrankungen und Veränderungen in der Anatomie der Zähne und des Kieferknochens. Um diesen Problemen entgegenzuwirken, kann die Weitergabe gezielter Ernährungsempfehlungen und die Optimierung der Vitalstoffzufuhr, speziell von Vitamin C, Folsäure, Vitamin D, Kalzium und ω-3-Fettsäuren hilfreich sein.
