Beurteilung von endoskopischen Liveübertragungen aus Sicht von Patienten und Teilnehmer

Zusammenfassung

Einleitung: Nutzen und Ethik von Livedemonstrationen endoskopischer Interventionen im Rahmen von Fortbildungsveranstaltungen werden kontrovers diskutiert. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist die Akzeptanz und Zufriedenheit der behandelten Patienten sowie die Meinung der Teilnehmer der Fortbildung.

Methoden: Ein validierter Fragebogen wurde allen Patienten zugesandt, die im Rahmen von Livedemonstrationen bei den Internationalen Endoskopiesymposien Düsseldorf in den Jahren zwischen 2008 und 2014 behandelt wurden. Darüber hinaus wurden alle ausgefüllten Evaluationsbögen der Teilnehmer derselben Veranstaltungen ausgewertet, um den Nutzen der Liveübertragungen zu ermitteln. Die Beurteilungen erfolgten mit Benotungen zwischen 1 und 6 (1 = sehr gut, 6 = ungenügend).

Ergebnisse: Von 174 angeschrieben Patienten wurden 76 Fragebögen zurückgesandt, von denen 70 auswertbar waren (40,2 %). Die Rate der Zufriedenheit mit dem Behandlungsablauf und dem Aufenthalt in der Endoskopieabteilung betrug 80,8 %. Die überwiegende Mehrzahl der Patienten (84,1 %) hatte nicht den Eindruck, dass eine falsche Behandlungsmöglichkeit gewählt wurde und nur wenige (6,7 %) stellten die fachliche Kompetenz des behandelnden Arztes infrage. 83 % der Befragten fühlten sich auch bei den Pflegekräften in guten Händen. Für drei Viertel der befragten Patienten (74,3 %) hat sich die Lebensqualität infolge der Maßnahmen bei den Livedemonstrationen erhöht. Von 10 004 Teilnehmern der Symposien wurden 6770 Evaluationsbögen ausgefüllt. Mit durchschnittlichen Noten von unter 2 wurden Fragen bewertet nach der Qualität der Patientenbehandlung aus medizinischer und ethischer Sicht sowie dem Lerneffekt durch Livedemonstrationen im Vergleich zu Videokonserven.

Zusammenfassung: Die überwiegende Mehrzahl der bei Livedemonstrationen im Rahmen der Düsseldorfer Endoskopiesymposien behandelten Patienten ist zufrieden hinsichtlich des Ablaufs, der Behandlung sowie Betreuung und den Ergebnissen. Kongressteilnehmer beurteilten den edukativen Wert der Liveübertragungen sowie den Umgang mit den Patienten in medizinischer und ethischer Hinsicht als gut bis sehr gut.

Abstract

Introduction: Benefits and ethics of live demonstrations of endoscopic interventions as part of educational meetings are controversial. Of particular importance is the acceptance and satisfaction of patients treated and the opinion of the participants of the courses.

Methods: A validated questionnaire was sent to all patients who were treated in live demonstrations at the Düsseldorf International Endoscopy Symposium (DIES) in the years 2008 – 2014. In addition, all participants completed evaluation forms of the same events were evaluated in order to determine the benefits of live performances. The assessments were carried out with evaluations 1 – 6 (1 = very good, 6 = very poor).

Results: Of 174 patients, 76 written questionnaires were returned, of which 70 were evaluable (40.2 %). The rate of satisfaction with the course of treatment and stay in the endoscopy department was 80.8 %. The vast majority of patients (84.1 %) did not feel that a wrong treatment option was chosen, and only a few (6.7 %) questioned the expertise of the treating physician. 83 % of respondents felt also at the nurses in good hands. For three-quarters of patients surveyed (74.3 %), the quality of life has improved as a result of the measures in the live demonstrations. Of 10 004 participants of the symposia, 6770 evaluation forms were filled out. Mean scores of below 2 were rated for questions about the quality of patient care from a medical and ethical point of view as well as for questions about the learning effect through live demonstrations compared to canned videos.

Conclusion: The vast majority of patients treated within live demonstrations as part of the DIES is satisfied with the course, treatment and patient care and outcomes. Congress participants assess the educational value of the live broadcasts as well as patient care in medical and ethical terms as good to very good.
