Zusammenfassung

Chronischer Stress, Mangel an Mikronährstoffen, fehlende Bewegung und andere Faktoren der Lebensweise lösen eine Kausalkette aus. Diese beginnt mit einer gestörten hippocampalen Neurogenese, die zunächst zu einem erhöhten Stresshormonlevel führt, dann zu Depressionen und letztendlich zu den für Alzheimer typischen neuropathologischen und kognitiven Veränderungen. Durch Beheben der Mängel lässt sich Alzheimer vermeiden und im Frühstadium der Erkrankung sogar therapieren.
