Publication History

Publication Date:
30 June 2015 (online)

‘Change,’ it is said, is an integral part of growth. The Indian Journal of Neurotrauma (IJNT), the official publication of Neurotrauma Society of India (NTSI), was first published in 2004 by Jay Dee Services Inc., New Delhi. Since then the journal has come a long way, building a name for itself within this academic space. It has been indexed in INMED. From June 2012, Elsevier India Pvt. Ltd. published the journal, taking it to the next level, and providing it a global reach using the Science Direct platform. IJNT is now well-known not only for its quality content related to developments in the field of Neurotrauma but also for its contribution to the uplift of research in this field.

In its next stage of growth, the publication of IJNT has now been taken up by Thieme Medical and Scientific Publishers India Pvt. Ltd. Thieme is a leading international publisher in the field of medicine which has carved a niche for itself in neurosciences. The current issue of IJNT is the first issue published by Thieme.

Founded in 1886, Thieme has been serving health professionals and students for more than 125 years. It offers a wide range of health-science books focusing on neurosurgery, neurotrauma, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, radiology, complementary and alternative medicine, audiology and speech and language pathology. Thieme has a global reputation for its excellent collection of neurosurgery and neurotrauma books and journals. Its Handbook of Neurosurgery, 7th Edition, by Greenberg, is a bestselling neurosurgery reference that has been used by generations of neurosurgery students.

I hope readers of IJNT like its new avatar: its new cover design which shows trauma to the brain, the new layout of its pages, and its new editorial distribution which are aimed at enhancing the value you get from the journal. And I will like to reiterate that we will continue to focus on the journal's goals. IJNT will continue to provide a platform for consolidating scientific research, content, and practices in the field of neurotrauma, with its emphasis on current knowledge, problems, and controversies in the field. It will continue to be an eFirst, subscription-based journal. The accepted manuscripts will be published online ahead of print, and will be available worldwide on the electronic platform, Thieme Connect (https://www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/journal/10.1055/s-00029202). It will continue to be published twice a year, in June and December.

We are also making all efforts to develop and enhance new ideas and research papers that would make IJNT increasingly more significant and important for the fraternity, thereby contributing to generate new opportunities of research in the field.
