Angesichts der Sterbehilfedebatten im österreichischen und deutschen Parlament, sowie anhaltender und medial überreizter Diskussion zum „Freitod“ in der Gesellschaft, ist die Fragestellung bedeutsam, wie wir Pflegekräfte Menschen mit einer unheilbaren weit fortgeschrittenen Erkrankung in ihrer Hoffnung unterstützen können. Dargestellt werden Möglichkeiten pflegerischer Intervention, die geeignet sind, Menschen in ihrer Hoffnung zu stärken. Einer Hoffnung, die sie trägt und ermutigt, das Leben auch angesichts schwerer Krankheit bis zum Ende auszukosten.
