A case of rhinorrhea cerebrospinalis will be discussed. A girl had cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage from the left nostril as a result of a cribriform plate fracture due to trauma. She underwent surgery which helped for only 6 months. The problem reoccurred and she was advised to undergo another surgical intervention.

The author was consulted at this stage. Noteworthy were the following aspects: viz. absorption of bonegraft suggesting the syphilitic miasm. Predominance of left side, patient is susceptible to cold as well as heat and culture of discharge: “lots of bacteria growing in the specimen”. Merc., selected on the data, made the culture sterile. The author then selected calc-p. as a remedy of choice taking into account, the need to develop the bone tissue. However, calc-p. didn't benefit and finally it was hedera helix that unlocked the case.
