Aim:

How can a homeopathic remedy be found to reduce or eliminate relapsing urinary tract disorders by patients showing only a few exploitable symptoms?

Methods:

The case taking with paraplegic patients is challenging due to the paucity of symptoms. In cooperation with Prof. Dr. med. J. Pannek at the Swiss Paraplegic Center Nottwil, more than 50 patients were treated according the anamnesis method of Dr. M.S. Jus: The case taking is not bound to a given protocol. It's brief, profound and based on a precise knowledge of the materia medica. Differential diagnosis is made during the anamnesis, which enables to find key questions leading to possible homeopathic remedies. The prescription is based on the cause, the modalities or the mind symptoms. The priorities are individual. 5 – 8 characteristic symptoms lead to the prescription. The presentation explains this approach by highlighting three cases of paraplegic patients with relapsing urinary tract disorders.

Results:

The method of Dr. M.S. Jus ideally supports the case taking of patients with paucity of symptoms. Despite the individuality and differing characteristic symptoms, the patients can be subdivided into three groups: The first group was classically treated with a constitutional remedy. For the second group, the homeopathic remedy was chosen due to mind symptoms and modalities and for the third group mainly due to the cause. Each example of the presentation represents one group.

Conclusions:

With the explained technique of case taking and with accurate analysis the selection of the remedy is possible, even with paucity of symptoms.
