Aim:

The aim of this paper is to draw kind attention of general practitioners to the needs of care of our elderly people, as well as to support positive influences of government policy initiatives on geriatric care.

Method:

An open observational study was conducted and this research work was carried out in the general clinical practice, in India. Ailments of old age (frequent urination, cough, acidity, constipation, vertigo, joint-pain, loss of appetite, sleeplessness) which require special medical treatment for which homeopaths are often required.

Result:

The result showed marked and sustained improvement under homeopathic treatment.

Conclusion:

Homeopathy ensures dignified aging and promotes coping abilities. The comprehensive health care of elderly people has become a most satisfying task for us, as 'doctors'. This study determined the role of homeopathy over a long term observation of elderly patients who wished to receive homeopathic treatment.
