Zusammenfassung

Die Osteoporose und Arthrose zeigen eine zunehmende In-zidenz mit steigendem Lebensalter. Zu der immer wieder gestellten Frage des gemeinsamen Auftretens beider Erkrankungen wird anhand der verfügbaren Datenlage Stel-lung genommen, ebenso zum Thema der lokalisierten Osteoporose (transitorische Osteoporose, periartikuläre Osteoporose) und dem Stellenwert einer osteoprotektiven Medikation.

Summary

Osteoporosis and osteoarthitis show a simultaneous occurence with increasing age. This manuscript reviews the current literature with respect to common occurrence of both diseases. Furthermore, the importance of osteoprotective drugs for localised osteoporosis, e.g. transient and peri-articular osteoporosis, is presented.
