Recent advances in the development of automated speech recognition (ASR) have made
routine applications for medical documentation possible. To achieve this, ASR has
to be optimally integrated into the specific documentation scenario. The classification
presented in this paper allows the definition of specification requirements. For two
different documentation scenarios the appropriate product selection has been done
according to this classification. Two evaluation studies are presented, addressing
the usefulness of applying automated speech recognition.
