Von der Universitätsbibliothek Ulm (Medizinisch-Naturwissensehaftliche Hochschule)
wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Rechenzentrum der Universität ein Programmsystem zur
Erstellung der Katalogkarten für Formal- und Sachkataloge entwickelt. Das System benutzt
zur Datenerfasstmg einen Klarschriftleser CDC 955, zur Aufbereitung der Daten eine
TR 440 und zum Druck der Katalogkarten einen Data Printer 300, der am Großrechner
angeschlossen und in der Bibliothek aufgestellt ist. Das System arbeitet für kleine
bis mittelgroße Bibliotheken sehr kostengünstig.
The Ulm University Medical Library, in cooperation with the University’s computer
center, has developed a system of programs for processing catalogue cards for both
alphabetic and subject catalogues. The system uses a CDC 955 page reader for data
input, a TR 440 computer for data processing, and a 300 data printer for data output
which is connected to the TR 440 located in the library. The system appears to be
economical and well suited for small and medium sized libraries with limited budgets.
