Eine IBM 1401-Bandanlage mit 16.000 Kern speicherstellen und 5 Bandeinheiten wurde
nach Einspeicherung eines Katalogs von Arznei- und Giftstoffen und den von ihnen verursachten
Symptomen dazu benutzt, anhand der Symptome von Patienten die differentialdiagnostisch
in Frage kommenden Möglichkeiten zu ermitteln. Einzelheiten der Datenverarbeitung
und der Programmerstellung werden kurz geschildert. Probeläufe mit etwa 20% der insgesamt
vorhandenen Symptome aus Arzneimittelprüfungen an Gesunden bzw. aus der Toxikologie
zeigten ermutigende Ergebnisse. Prinzipiell wird es danach möglich sein, mit einer
ähnlichen Methode vollständige Listen der Differentialdiagnostik von Krankheiten zu
erstellen.
After having stored a catalogue of pharmaceutic and toxic agents and of the symptoms
caused by them, an IBM 1401 computer with a 16.000 bits magnetic core and 5 tape units
was used for investigating the differential-diagnostic possibilities in question by
means of individual patients’ symptoms. A brief description of data processing and
programming details is given. Test runs carried out with about 20 per cent of all
available symptoms from drug tests with healthy subjects and from toxicology showed
encouraging results. According to this it should principally be possible to compile
complete catalogues of differential-diagnostics of diseases by a similar method.
