Dear Seminars in Hearing Readers/Subscribers:

It is truly a pleasure to serve as the Editor in Chief of Seminars in Hearing. I work with the editorial board and with reader input to identify important, current topics that you want to know more about. Seminars in Hearing is a unique offering that provides databased articles, review articles, and tutorials all in the same edition providing readers with new information or more in-depth information and to offer others information they need to design the next important research projects. It is exciting to see the diversity in our readership and realize that it meets so many needs. Fundamentally, Seminars in Hearing is a vehicle for continuing education at all levels. Given that focus, we have consistently offered continuing education units from both AAA and ASHA over the years. Offering CE Units has become more cumbersome for our authors and our readers over the years and we've found that although our readers clearly receive continued education from our offerings, very few actually apply for the continuing education units. With this in mind, the editorial board met in April this year (2018) and voted to discontinue the CE unit offerings. This means that Seminars in Hearing will continue to provide essential information to our readership, but readers will no longer submit answers to CE questions for credit from AAA or ASHA.

For those of you who have applied for and received CEUs in the past, I want to make sure you are aware of this transition. Our last edition that will include CE questions will be the fourth edition in 2018.

For individuals who pursue ASHA CEUs, issues will continue to be available for CE credit for 3 years after date of issue.

For those of you who pursue AAA CEUs, to receive credit for the 2017 editions and/or the 2018 editions, your answers to CE questions must be received by the end of December 2018. We do realize that this is a quick turnaround for the 2018 editions, but this is a rule from AAA that we must follow.

I look forward to working with our future Guest Editors, Authors, and you the readers to continue to offer the very best in current information covering the broad range of topics that are relevant to individuals interested in the assessment and treatment of hearing and balance challenges.
