Bindungstheoretische Erkenntnisse verbessern auch in der ­medizinischen Versorgung zunehmend das Verständnis der ­Entstehung und Aufrechterhaltung von Erkrankungen sowie die ­Gestaltung der Arzt-Patient-Beziehung. Dabei bietet uns die ­Bindungstheorie ein Erklärungsmodell für unterschiedliche Affektregulationen und Verhaltensweisen von Patienten im Umgang mit ihren Erkrankungen. Dieses Modell hilft uns, unsere Patienten besser zu verstehen und adäquater mit ihnen zu interagieren.
