Psychische Störungen bei Frauen: Verlauf und Besonderheiten im Zusammenhang mit den reproduktiven Phasen

Zahlreiche Studien zeigen bei Männern und Frauen in verschiedenen Altersgruppen unterschiedliche Prävalenzraten für psychische Störungen. Dieser Beitrag beschreibt den Verlauf psychischer Störungen bei Frauen unter Berücksichtigung der hormonellen und neuroendokrinen Besonderheiten im Zusammenhang mit dem Menstruationszyklus, der Schwangerschaft und Postpartalzeit sowie der Perimenopause.

Kernaussagen
  • Verschiedene psychische Störungsbilder treten bei Frauen häufiger auf als bei Männern.

  • Der Verlauf psychischer Störungen kann durch hormonelle Veränderungen in der prämenstruellen Zeit, in der Peripartalzeit sowie in der Perimenopause beeinflusst sein.

  • Die Diagnostik und Behandlung psychischer Störungen bei Frauen sollte unter Berücksichtigung der zyklusbedingten Besonderheiten und reproduktiven Übergänge erfolgen.

  • Für eine geschlechtsspezifische psychologische Diagnostik und Psycho- bzw. Pharmakotherapie stehen geeignete Instrumente und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung.
