Operationen in der Urogynäkologie und gynäkologischen Onkologie sind häufiger, als man denkt. So zählen die gynäkologischen Malignome nach Brust- und Darmkrebs zu den dritthäufigsten Krebsneuerkrankungen in Deutschland [29]. Gerade hier ist es wichtig, die Patientinnen über konservative Maßnahmen, aber auch über die möglichen Risiken und Komplikationen einer Operation in diesem Bereich zu informieren.
