Abstract

Pathological temporomandibular joint disorders in the sense of a craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD) can basically occur at all ages. From the range of craniomandibular dysfunctions, the article singles out areas of focus, highlights the frequency and possible causes and shows various possibilities and appliances for use in treatment depending on the findings.

This article is based on the scientific article “Pathological temporomandibular joint findings in children and adolescents” from 2015 [1]. Its objective is to reveal prevalences and causes not only in children but also in adults as well as diagnostic and therapeutic options in view of current literature data.
