Seminars in IR—New Editor-in-Chief, January 2026
Autoren
As I move on to other editorial responsibilities, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to the readership the incoming Editor-in-Chief of Seminars in Interventional Radiology. The naming of the new Editor follows a national search conducted by Thieme and will be in effect January 2026 with the number 43 issue of Seminars.
Bill S. Majdalany, MD, FSIR, is currently Professor and Chief of Interventional Radiology at the University of Vermont, where he also serves as Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Radiology. Bill is also currently the IR residency director at Vermont, a position he also held at both Emory University and the University of Michigan. After receiving his MD degree (magna cum laude) from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, he completed both his diagnostic radiology residency training and vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Although Dr. Majdalany is widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent IRs in the field of lymphatic interventions, his skill set is broad both as a clinician and researcher. He has published nearly 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as 70 review articles and book chapters. His >200 invitations to speak at national and international conferences speak to his stellar reputation in our field. On a more personal note, I have known Bill for many years and am beyond impressed with his knowledge base, dedication to the field, and measured approach he takes to performing tasks. The journal could not have chosen a better person to take it to the next level.
In addition to his many other accomplishments, Bill has served on the Seminars in Interventional Radiology board for 5 years. His timeliness, attention to detail, and understanding of the processes required to put together an issue suit him well for a seamless, and exciting, transition for the journal.
Congratulations, Bill!
